Plunge Propagating Bench - a sturdy aluminium bench, 30" (75cm) high with a lower level 8" (20cm) from the ground.
Professional Rod Thermostat and Soil Warming Cable - an undersoil, thermostatically controlled heating cable gives the necessary warm rooting area.
Electronic Leaf Controller, Solenoid Valve and Deluxe Misting Kit - automatic, frequent fine misting of the leaves keeps the plants continually moist and provides maximum humidity.
The warm, damp atmosphere created by the Mist Propagation Unit prevents cuttings from wilting and scorching and rapid root growth soon results, even with normally difficult subjects.

Plunge Propagating Bench:
Based on 2" (5cm) deep trays double-bolted to the uprights and middle support legs for added strength. Side and end panels form the 6" (15cm) deep plunge area, the top edges of which are folded over for strength and safety. The lower level can be constructed as either a 2" (5cm) deep gravel tray or a flat working surface.
Soil Warming Cable:
Either a 40ft (150watt), 80ft (150 watt) or 120 ft (450 watt) mains operated cable depending on the size of Unit purchased. Completely safe being fully insulated and sheathed with a braided metal earthing sleeve.
Professional Rod Thermostat:
A traditional greenhouse thermostat, temperature is sensed by an 18" (45.5cm) long capillary rod. The control box should be attached to the side of the bench with the temperature sensing rod positioned through the 10mm hole so that it sits just above the soil warming cable. Temperature range 0-40?C.
Deluxe Misting Kit:
Either a 1, 2 or 3 jet system depending on the size of the Unit purchased. A very fine mist system based on a precision-made brass jet that gives a very fine and even mist. The jets are fully adjustable and have an in-built filter, which is easily removed for cleaning.
Electronic Leaf Controller:
The control box is operated by mains electricity and transforms the supply to a safe 24 volts; to this (via a 7? ft lead) connects the moisture sensor (the 'leaf') and the electrical lead from a solenoid valve. The 'leaf' is positioned amongst the plants to sense the amount of water falling on them. When it dries it sends a 'message' to the solenoid valve which opens and allows water to flow to the deluxe misting system. After the chosen length of mist burst has elapsed (variable between 3 to 10 seconds) the control box sends another 'message' to close the solenoid and the whole cycle continues to repeat. The automatic system can also be overridden to give continuous spray/mist.
Solenoid Valve:
Operates off a 24-volt electricity supply and mains water pressure. |
