When you start growing you really need help and when it's pouring with
rain outside you can curl up with a good book and get that help. This
selection should get you off to a good start and hopefully improve your
skills.

The Geoff Hamilton BBC Collection
By: Geoff Hamilton
Geoff Hamilton will always be the 'the TV gardener' for me. Let's face it, he was the best and is still greatly missed.
At least we can watch some of his programmes on DVD - this collection contains The Cottage Garden, The Paradise Garden and The Ornamental Kitchen Garden. - You'll watch again and again.
The Victorian Garden Series
By: Dodson, Mott and Thoday
Yet another blast from the past that just doesn't date and you will watch over and over, pencil and paper in hand to make notes. Contains: The Victorian Kitchen Garden, The Victorian Flower Garden and the Victorian Kitchen
I can't recommend this strongly enough - get it!
Victorian Farm
By: BBC
Nearly, and it is nearly, as good as the Victorian Garden Collection this covers a year of a small Victorian farm being run as an experiment in 2008.
It opens your eyes somewhat to how life was in rural Britain although I don't think it quite gets over how tough things were. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Grow Your Own Drugs [DVD] [2009]
By: James Wong
OK, this series had me shouting at the screen at points - some of it struck me as mad, bad and dangerous. At other points, I was thinking 'Wow! that's a good idea - I'll try that'
So, if you're open to alternative medicines and self reliance, buy it. Otherwise don't.
Around The World In 80 Gardens
By: Monty Don
OK, this isn't instructional and has little to do with vegetables but it was an absolutely fascinating series. I like Monty Don - he's real and this is very watchable. Trouble is, I want to go and visit all these wonderful gardens.
