Taken from an ancient Greengage hedge on Ray Mannings' fruit farm at Willingham near Cambridge (home of Greengages), this superb selection will produce good crops of roundish, medium-sized, bright green fruit in August. The fruit are sweet and aromatic - good for cooking but also delicious eaten raw when really ripe.

Red Gage

An irresistible Plum with a unique, very rich flavour - often known as "The Wine Plum" as some find its taste reminiscent of red wine! Crops reliably and heavily, and is cold tolerant, so performs well even in northern areas. You can expect to pick the fruit during the first two weeks of August. Grafted on St. Julian A rootstock.
